  • Baking powder 2 teaspoons
  • Ground cinnamon 1 teaspoon
  • Granulated sugar 1/4 cup
  • Milk 1 cup
  • Egg 1 large
  • Apples (peeled, cored, and diced) 2 medium

  3. Step 3: In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, and melted butter.
  4. Step 4: Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix. Gently fold in the diced apples.

  6. Step 6: Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown. Let cool slightly before glazing (recipe for glaze separate).

Notes

  • Store cooled fritters in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days.
  • To best reheat, warm the fritters in a low oven (around 300°F/150°C) for a few minutes to restore their texture.
  • Serve these warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an extra-special treat.
  • For the lightest fritters, be sure to gently fold in the apples and avoid overmixing the batter.
