- Ground cinnamon 1 teaspoon
- Granulated sugar 1/4 cup
- Milk 1 cup
- Egg 1 large
- Apples (peeled, cored, and diced) 2 medium
- Melted butter 2 tablespoons
Instructions
- Step 1: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease or line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Step 2: In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and sugar.
- Step 3: In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, and melted butter.
- Step 4: Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix. Gently fold in the diced apples.
- Step 5: Drop spoonfuls of batter onto the prepared baking sheet.
- Step 6: Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown. Let cool slightly before glazing (recipe for glaze separate).
Notes
- Store cooled fritters in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days.
- To best reheat, warm the fritters in a low oven (around 300°F/150°C) for a few minutes to restore their texture.
- Serve these warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an extra-special treat.
- For the lightest fritters, be sure to gently fold in the apples and avoid overmixing the batter.
