Delicious banana pudding tres leches cake recipe with detailed instructions and nutritional information.

  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

  • All-purpose flour: 1 1/2 cups
  • Granulated sugar: 1 cup
  • Eggs: 4 large
  • Baking powder: 1 1/2 teaspoons
  • Unsalted butter, melted: 1/2 cup
  • Vanilla extract: 1 teaspoon
  • Sweetened condensed milk: 1 (14 ounce) can
  • Evaporated milk: 1 (12 ounce) can

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch baking pan. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, and baking powder.
  2. Step 2: In a separate bowl, beat eggs and melted butter until combined. Add vanilla extract. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
  3. Step 3: Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a wooden skewer inserted into the center comes out clean. Let the cake cool completely in the pan.
  4. Step 4: Use a fork to poke holes all over the cooled cake. In a bowl, combine the sweetened condensed milk and evaporated milk.
  5. Step 5: Pour the milk mixture evenly over the cake, allowing it to soak in. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or preferably overnight, to allow the cake to fully absorb the milk.
  6. Step 6: Before serving, top with whipped cream and sliced bananas.

Notes

  • To prevent a soggy bottom, ensure the cake is completely cooled before soaking it with the milk mixture.
  • Store leftover cake covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days; the flavors meld beautifully over time.
  • For an extra layer of flavor, lightly caramelize the banana slices before adding them as a topping.
  • Serve chilled and consider adding a sprinkle of cinnamon or nutmeg for a warm, comforting finish.
