Ingredients
- All-purpose flour: 2 1/2 cups
- Baking soda: 1 teaspoon
- Baking powder: 1 teaspoon
- Ground cinnamon: 1 teaspoon
- Salt: 1/2 teaspoon
- Pumpkin puree: 1 1/2 cups
- Granulated sugar: 1 cup
- Chocolate chips: 1 cup
Instructions
- Step 1: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
- Step 2: In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
- Step 3: In a separate bowl, combine the pumpkin puree and sugar. Mix well until combined.
- Step 4: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Step 5: Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Step 6: Pour batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let cool in pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- To keep your bread moist, wrap it tightly in plastic wrap or store it in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
- For a warm, gooey treat, microwave a slice for 15-20 seconds before serving.
- A dollop of whipped cream or a sprinkle of powdered sugar makes each slice extra special.
- Don't overmix the batter—a few streaks of flour are okay and will ensure a tender, moist loaf.
