Ingredients
Scale
- 1 (14.1 ounce) bag of semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 (12 ounce) bag of pretzels, roughly broken into smaller pieces
- 1 (12 ounce) bag of fresh blackberries
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- Optional: 1/4 cup chopped pecans or walnuts
Instructions
- Step 1: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. In a medium microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate chips in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
- Step 2: Gently fold in the broken pretzels until evenly coated.
- Step 3: Spread the pretzel mixture onto the prepared baking sheet in an even layer.
- Step 4: In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream, sugar, vanilla extract, and salt until stiff peaks form.
- Step 5: Gently fold the blackberries into the whipped cream. Spread the whipped cream mixture evenly over the pretzel layer.
- Step 6: Refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until the chocolate is set and the dessert is chilled. Optional: Sprinkle with chopped nuts before serving.
Notes
- Store leftover Blackberry Pretzel Dessert in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- For a warmer, gooier experience, let the dessert sit at room temperature for 15-20 minutes before serving.
- This dessert is delightful served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of extra whipped cream for an extra decadent treat.
- To prevent the blackberries from releasing too much juice and making the dessert soggy, gently pat them dry with a paper towel before folding them into the whipped cream.
