Ingredients
- Green beans, trimmed: 1 pound
- Garlic, minced: 4 cloves
- Soy sauce: 2 tablespoons
- Oyster sauce: 1 tablespoon
- Sesame oil: 1 teaspoon
- Vegetable oil: 2 tablespoons
- Ginger, minced: 1 teaspoon
- Red pepper flakes: 1/2 teaspoon (optional)
Instructions
- Step 1: Heat vegetable oil in a wok or large skillet over high heat until shimmering.
- Step 2: Add the green beans to the hot oil and stir-fry for 3-5 minutes, until they are bright green and slightly blistered.
- Step 3: Add the minced garlic and ginger to the skillet and stir-fry for another minute until fragrant.
- Step 4: In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes (if using).
- Step 5: Pour the sauce over the green beans and stir-fry for 1-2 minutes, until the sauce is evenly distributed and the green beans are cooked through but still crisp-tender.
Notes
- To keep leftover green beans crisp, store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
- For best results, reheat the green beans in a skillet over medium heat rather than microwaving to prevent them from becoming soggy.
- Serve these flavorful green beans as a vibrant side dish with grilled chicken or tofu for a complete meal.
- Don't overcrowd the pan when stir-frying; work in batches if necessary to ensure even cooking and avoid steaming the green beans.
