Ingredients
Scale
- 1 large Onion, sliced into 1/4 inch rings
- 1 cup Almond Flour
- 1/2 cup Grated Parmesan Cheese
- 2 large Eggs, beaten
- 1/4 cup Heavy Cream
- 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Paprika
- Salt and Pepper to taste
Instructions
- Step 1: Prepare three shallow dishes. In the first, place the almond flour mixed with garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. In the second, beat the eggs with heavy cream. In the third, place the grated parmesan cheese.
- Step 2: Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) or preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Step 3: Dredge each onion ring first in the almond flour mixture, ensuring it's fully coated.
- Step 4: Dip the coated onion ring into the egg mixture, letting any excess drip off.
- Step 5: Press the onion ring into the parmesan cheese, coating thoroughly.
- Step 6: Place the coated onion rings in the air fryer basket or on the prepared baking sheet in a single layer. Air fry for 8-10 minutes, or bake for 15-20 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
Notes
- Store leftover onion rings in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days, but be aware they lose some crispness.
- To best restore the crispness, reheat onion rings in a preheated air fryer or oven instead of the microwave.
- Serve these crispy keto onion rings immediately with your favorite keto-friendly dipping sauce, like sugar-free ketchup or ranch.
- For maximum crispiness, avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket or baking sheet to ensure proper air circulation around each onion ring.
