- Cream cheese, softened: 8 ounces
- Unsalted butter, softened: 1/2 cup (1 stick)
- Powdered sugar: 3 cups
- Cool Whip, thawed: 8 ounces
- Vanilla extract: 1 teaspoon
- Milk: 2 tablespoons
- Gummy worms and Easter candy: as needed for decoration
Instructions
- Step 1: Crush the Oreo cookies in a food processor or by placing them in a large zip-top bag and crushing them with a rolling pin. Set aside.
- Step 2: In a large bowl, cream together the softened cream cheese and butter until smooth.
- Step 3: Gradually add the powdered sugar to the cream cheese mixture, mixing until well combined and smooth. Add the vanilla extract and milk and mix well.
- Step 4: Gently fold in the Cool Whip until fully incorporated and the mixture is light and fluffy.
- Step 5: In a clear bowl or trifle dish, layer the crushed Oreo cookies and the cream cheese mixture, starting and ending with a layer of crushed Oreos.
- Step 6: Refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight to allow the flavors to meld. Before serving, decorate the top with gummy worms and Easter candy.
Notes
- Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days, but the Oreo cookies will soften over time.
- This dessert is best served chilled, so there's no need to reheat it.
- Present your Easter Dirt Cake in individual clear cups for an extra festive and portable treat.
- For an even smoother cream cheese filling, ensure your cream cheese and butter are completely softened before mixing.
