- 1 (10 ounce) bag marshmallows (mini or regular)
- 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
- 1/2 cup pastel-colored candy melts (white, pink, yellow, etc.)
- 1/4 cup mini chocolate chips
- 1/4 cup pastel sprinkles
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
- Food coloring (pastel shades, optional)
Instructions
- Step 1: Lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking pan. Set aside.
- Step 2: In a large saucepan over low heat, melt the butter. Add the marshmallows and stir constantly until completely melted and smooth. If using food coloring, stir it in now. Remove from heat. Stir in vanilla extract (if using).
- Step 3: Carefully add the Rice Krispies cereal to the marshmallow mixture and stir gently until the cereal is evenly coated.
- Step 4: Pour the mixture into the prepared baking pan and press down firmly and evenly with a spatula or wax paper to create an even layer.
- Step 5: Melt the pastel-colored candy melts according to package directions. Drizzle the melted candy melts over the Rice Krispies treats. Sprinkle with mini chocolate chips and pastel sprinkles.
- Step 6: Allow the treats to cool completely before cutting into squares. Once cooled, cut into desired shapes and sizes.
