Ingredients
- Chicken breasts: 2 (about 6 oz each)
- Garlic: 4 cloves, minced
- Butter: 4 tablespoons, divided
- Olive oil: 1 tablespoon
- Dried Italian seasoning: 1 teaspoon
- Salt: 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper: 1/4 teaspoon
- Fresh parsley: 2 tablespoons, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Step 1: Season chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
- Step 2: Heat olive oil and 2 tablespoons of butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Step 3: Add chicken breasts to the skillet and cook for 5-7 minutes per side, or until cooked through and golden brown. Remove chicken from skillet and set aside.
- Step 4: Reduce heat to medium and add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook garlic for about 1 minute, or until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
- Step 5: Return the cooked chicken breasts to the skillet and spoon the garlic butter sauce over them. Let simmer for 1-2 minutes, allowing the chicken to absorb the flavors.
- Step 6: Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
Notes
- Store leftover garlic butter chicken in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- Reheat gently in a skillet over medium-low heat, adding a splash of chicken broth if needed to prevent drying.
- Serve this garlic butter chicken over a bed of fluffy rice or creamy mashed potatoes to soak up all that delicious sauce.
- For extra flavor, consider adding a squeeze of lemon juice to the garlic butter sauce just before serving to brighten the dish.
