Ingredients
- Bowtie pasta: 1 pound
- Ground beef: 1 pound
- Garlic: 4 cloves, minced
- Parmesan cheese: 1/2 cup, grated
- Heavy cream: 1 cup
- Olive oil: 2 tablespoons
- Italian seasoning: 1 teaspoon
- Salt and pepper: to taste
Instructions
- Step 1: Cook the bowtie pasta according to package directions until al dente. Drain, reserving about 1/2 cup of pasta water.
- Step 2: While the pasta is cooking, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned. Drain off any excess grease.
- Step 3: Add the minced garlic and Italian seasoning to the skillet with the ground beef. Cook for about 1 minute, until fragrant.
- Step 4: Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a simmer. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and the sauce is smooth. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Step 5: Add the cooked pasta to the skillet with the sauce. Toss to coat. If the sauce is too thick, add a little of the reserved pasta water until it reaches your desired consistency.
- Step 6: Serve immediately, garnished with extra Parmesan cheese, if desired.
Notes
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- Reheat gently over low heat on the stovetop, adding a splash of milk or cream if needed to loosen the sauce.
- This pasta is delicious served with a simple side salad and some crusty bread for soaking up the creamy sauce.
- Don't overcook the pasta, as it will continue to cook slightly in the sauce, and be sure to grate the Parmesan finely for the smoothest sauce.
