Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 6 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup butter, unsalted
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley, for garnish
Instructions
- Step 1: In a large bowl, toss the shrimp with the minced garlic, honey, and soy sauce. Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.
- Step 2: Heat the butter and olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until the butter is melted and the mixture is shimmering.
- Step 3: Add the marinated shrimp to the skillet in a single layer. Cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until the shrimp turns pink and is cooked through. Be careful not to overcrowd the pan; cook in batches if necessary.
- Step 4: Sprinkle the red pepper flakes over the shrimp during the last minute of cooking.
- Step 5: Remove the skillet from the heat and garnish with fresh parsley.
- Step 6: Serve the Hawaiian Garlic Shrimp immediately over rice, pasta, or enjoy as is.
Notes
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days, but the shrimp is best enjoyed fresh!
- For best results when reheating, gently warm the shrimp in a skillet over low heat with a splash of water or broth to prevent drying.
- Try serving this delightful shrimp with a side of grilled pineapple for an extra burst of Hawaiian sunshine.
- Don't skip the marinade; it's key to infusing the shrimp with that sweet and savory flavor profile!
