Ingredients
Scale
- 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs, cut into 1-inch pieces
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon grated ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions
- Step 1: In a medium bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, rice vinegar, sesame oil, grated ginger, and red pepper flakes (if using).
- Step 2: Add the chicken pieces to the bowl and toss to coat evenly with the honey garlic sauce. Marinate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours in the refrigerator.
- Step 3: Heat a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the marinated chicken and cook, stirring occasionally, until the chicken is cooked through and the sauce has thickened slightly, about 8-10 minutes.
- Step 4: If desired, you can transfer the chicken to a baking sheet and broil for 1-2 minutes to create a slightly crispier finish.
- Step 5: Serve immediately over rice or noodles. Garnish with sesame seeds or chopped green onions, if desired.
Notes
- Store leftover Honey Garlic Chicken in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- Reheat gently in a microwave or skillet to avoid drying out the chicken and maintain its delicious sauce.
- Serve this flavorful chicken over a bed of fluffy rice, adding a sprinkle of toasted sesame seeds for extra crunch and visual appeal.
- For a deeper, richer garlic flavor, lightly toast the minced garlic in the skillet before adding the chicken and sauce.
