- Apples (peeled and sliced) 6 medium
- All-purpose flour 1 cup
- Granulated sugar 1 cup
- Baking powder 1 teaspoon
- Salt 1/4 teaspoon
- Milk 1/2 cup
- Butter (melted) 1/2 cup
- Ground cinnamon 1 teaspoon
Instructions
- Step 1: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Step 2: In a large bowl, combine sliced apples and cinnamon. Arrange apples evenly in the prepared baking dish.
- Step 3: In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Step 4: Add milk and melted butter to the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Step 5: Pour the batter evenly over the apples in the baking dish.
- Step 6: Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the apples are tender. Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- Store leftover cobbler, covered, in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- Reheat individual portions in the microwave for 30-60 seconds, or until warmed through.
- Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream for extra indulgence.
- For a richer flavor, try browning the melted butter slightly before adding it to the batter – just be careful not to burn it!
