Ingredients
Scale
- 6 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 3/4 cup milk
- 4 ripe bananas, sliced
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Instructions
- Step 1: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Pour melted butter into a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Step 2: In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, and baking powder. Add the milk and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Step 3: Pour batter over the melted butter in the baking dish.
- Step 4: Arrange the sliced bananas evenly over the batter. Sprinkle with cinnamon.
- Step 5: Bake for 30-40 minutes, or until golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Notes
- Store leftover cobbler in the refrigerator, covered, for up to 3 days to keep the bananas from browning.
- For a warm, comforting treat, gently reheat individual portions in the microwave for about 30 seconds.
- A scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream perfectly complements the warm banana cobbler.
- Chef's Tip: For an extra layer of flavor, try browning the melted butter slightly before pouring it into the baking dish for a nutty depth.
