Delicious longhorn steakhouse parmesan chicken recipe recipe with detailed instructions and nutritional information.

  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (68 ounces each)
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup Italian seasoned bread crumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 4 tablespoons olive oil, divided
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Prepare the chicken by pounding the chicken breasts to an even 1/2-inch thickness.
  2. Step 2: In a shallow dish, combine the flour, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. In a second shallow dish, place the beaten eggs. In a third shallow dish, combine the bread crumbs and Parmesan cheese.
  3. Step 3: Dredge each chicken breast in the flour mixture, then dip in the egg mixture, and finally coat thoroughly with the bread crumb mixture.
  4. Step 4: Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken breasts and cook for 3-4 minutes per side, until golden brown.
  5. Step 5: Remove the skillet from the heat and pour the marinara sauce over the chicken. Sprinkle with mozzarella cheese.
  6. Step 6: Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the cheese is melted and bubbly. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

  • For best flavor, store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • To reheat, gently warm the chicken in the oven at 350°F (175°C) to maintain crispiness, rather than microwaving.
  • Serve this Parmesan chicken with a side of steamed asparagus or your favorite pasta for a complete and satisfying meal.
  • For extra crispy chicken, ensure the skillet is hot before adding the breaded chicken breasts and don't overcrowd the pan.
