Delicious melon ice cream recipe with detailed instructions and nutritional information.

  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups cubed cantaloupe or honeydew melon, chilled
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup whole milk
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Puree the chilled melon in a blender or food processor until completely smooth.
  2. Step 2: In a separate bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, sugar, milk, lemon juice, salt, and vanilla extract until the sugar is dissolved.
  3. Step 3: Combine the pureed melon with the cream mixture and stir well to combine.
  4. Step 4: Pour the mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions. This usually takes about 20-25 minutes.
  5. Step 5: Transfer the soft-serve ice cream to an airtight container and freeze for at least 2 hours to harden before serving.

Notes

  • To prevent ice crystals, press a sheet of plastic wrap directly onto the surface of the ice cream before freezing.
  • If your ice cream gets too hard, let it sit at room temperature for a few minutes before scooping.
  • Garnish each serving with fresh mint sprigs and a few extra melon cubes for an elegant presentation.
  • For a more intense melon flavor, chill the pureed melon mixture in the fridge for at least 30 minutes before churning.
