Ingredients
- Ground turkey: 1 pound
- Turkey bacon: 8 slices, cooked and crumbled
- Garlic: 4 cloves, minced
- Onion: 1/2 medium, chopped
- Marinara sauce: 24 ounces
- Lasagna noodles: 9 oven-ready noodles
- Ricotta cheese: 15 ounces
- Shredded mozzarella cheese: 2 cups
- Grated Parmesan cheese: 1/2 cup
- Dried Italian seasoning: 1 teaspoon
Instructions
- Step 1: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). In a large skillet, brown ground turkey over medium-high heat. Drain any excess grease. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic and cook until softened, about 3-5 minutes.
- Step 2: Stir in the marinara sauce and Italian seasoning. Simmer for 5 minutes, then remove from heat and stir in the cooked and crumbled turkey bacon.
- Step 3: In a bowl, combine the ricotta cheese and 1/4 cup of the Parmesan cheese.
- Step 4: Spread a thin layer of the meat sauce in the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking dish. Layer 3 lasagna noodles on top of the sauce. Spread half of the ricotta mixture over the noodles, then top with 1/3 of the mozzarella cheese. Repeat layers: meat sauce, noodles, ricotta, mozzarella. Top with the final 3 noodles, remaining meat sauce, and the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
- Step 5: Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the lasagna is heated through.
- Step 6: Let the lasagna rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
- For best flavor, store leftover lasagna in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- Reheat individual slices in the microwave or bake covered in the oven at 350°F (175°C) until warmed through.
- Serve with a simple side salad and garlic bread for a complete and satisfying meal.
- To prevent soggy lasagna, ensure the ricotta cheese is well-drained before mixing and avoid over-layering the sauce.
