  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (15.25 ounce) box yellow cake mix
  • 1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 cup melted butter
  • 3 large eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. Step 2: Spread the sweetened condensed milk evenly over the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
  3. Step 3: Sprinkle the chopped pecans evenly over the sweetened condensed milk.
  4. Step 4: In a separate bowl, whisk together the melted butter, eggs, vanilla extract, and salt. Pour this mixture evenly over the pecans.
  5. Step 5: Sprinkle the dry yellow cake mix evenly over the wet ingredients. Do not stir.
  6. Step 6: Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the center is set. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • Store leftovers, tightly covered, in the refrigerator for up to 3 days to maintain that delicious gooey texture.
  • Reheat individual slices gently in the microwave for about 30 seconds to revive the warmth and buttery flavor.
  • Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream to complement the pecan pie richness.
  • For an extra nutty crunch, toast the pecans lightly in a dry skillet before sprinkling them over the sweetened condensed milk.
