Delicious philly steak & cheese fries recipe with detailed instructions and nutritional information.

  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb thinly sliced steak (ribeye or sirloin)
  • 1 large onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp steak seasoning
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1 (16 oz) bag of frozen french fries
  • 4 slices provolone cheese
  • 4 hoagie rolls (optional)

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Prepare french fries according to package directions, or bake until golden brown and crispy.
  2. Step 2: In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add steak and cook until browned, about 3-4 minutes per side. Add onion and green pepper and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  3. Step 3: Stir in steak seasoning and beef broth. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 5-7 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened slightly.
  4. Step 4: Place cooked french fries on a serving platter. Top with the Philly steak mixture.
  5. Step 5: Top the steak and fries with provolone cheese. If desired, you can briefly broil until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  6. Step 6: Serve immediately. If using hoagie rolls, place the steak and cheese fries inside the rolls for a complete Philly cheesesteak fry sandwich experience.

Notes

  • Store leftover Philly Steak & Cheese fries in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Reheat leftover fries in a 350°F oven for 5-7 minutes, or until heated through and the cheese is melted again.
  • For an extra flavour kick, serve with a side of spicy mayonnaise or a zesty chimichurri sauce.
  • To prevent the steak from becoming tough, ensure it's thinly sliced and don't overcook it; aim for a tender, juicy result.
