Ingredients
- Mushrooms (cremini or white) – 1 pound
- Olive oil – 2 tablespoons
- Garlic – 2 cloves, minced
- Butter – 1 tablespoon
- Salt – 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper – 1/4 teaspoon
- Fresh parsley – 1 tablespoon, chopped
- Lemon juice – 1 teaspoon
Instructions
- Step 1: Clean the mushrooms gently with a damp paper towel to remove any dirt. Slice the mushrooms into approximately 1/4-inch thick slices.
- Step 2: Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Step 3: Add the sliced mushrooms to the hot skillet. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the mushrooms release their moisture and start to brown, about 5-7 minutes.
- Step 4: Add the minced garlic to the skillet and cook for another minute, until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
- Step 5: Season with salt and pepper. Stir well to combine.
- Step 6: Remove from heat and stir in the fresh parsley and lemon juice. Serve immediately.
Notes
- Store leftover fried mushrooms in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- For best results, reheat leftover mushrooms in a dry skillet over medium heat to re-crisp them slightly.
- Serve these savory mushrooms as a delicious side dish alongside steak, chicken, or even stirred into pasta.
- Don't overcrowd the pan; cook the mushrooms in batches if necessary to ensure even browning and avoid steaming.
