Delicious red lobster’s cheese biscuit loaf recipe with detailed instructions and nutritional information.

  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup (1/2 stick) cold unsalted butter, cut into cubes
  • 1 cup buttermilk, cold
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Preheat oven to 450°F (232°C). Grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
  2. Step 2: In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Cut in the cold butter using a pastry blender or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Step 3: Stir in the cheddar cheese. Add the cold buttermilk and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
  4. Step 4: Transfer the dough to the prepared loaf pan.
  5. Step 5: Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  6. Step 6: While the loaf is baking, melt the remaining butter and stir in the garlic powder. Brush the melted garlic butter over the top of the baked loaf immediately after removing it from the oven. Let cool slightly before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • Store cooled leftovers tightly wrapped at room temperature for up to 2 days or in the refrigerator for up to a week.
  • For a warm, just-baked taste, reheat slices in the microwave for 15-20 seconds or in a low oven until heated through.
  • Serve warm cheese biscuit loaf alongside a hearty soup or a seafood stew for a comforting and satisfying meal.
  • Use *very* cold butter and buttermilk to prevent the dough from becoming too soft and ensure a flaky, tender texture.
