Delicious savory cheddar & turkey bacon dutch baby: a delightful treat! recipe with detailed instructions and nutritional information.

  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

  • All-purpose flour: 1/2 cup
  • Large eggs: 3
  • Milk: 1/2 cup
  • Turkey bacon: 4 slices, cooked and crumbled
  • Cheddar cheese: 1/2 cup, shredded
  • Butter: 2 tablespoons
  • Salt: 1/4 teaspoon
  • Black pepper: Pinch

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Place a 10-inch cast iron skillet (or oven-safe skillet) in the oven while it preheats.
  2. Step 2: While the oven heats, whisk together the flour, eggs, milk, salt, and pepper in a blender or bowl until smooth.
  3. Step 3: Carefully remove the hot skillet from the oven. Add the butter to the skillet and swirl to coat the bottom and sides of the pan. The butter should melt quickly.
  4. Step 4: Pour the batter into the hot skillet. Sprinkle the crumbled turkey bacon and shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the batter.
  5. Step 5: Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the Dutch Baby is puffed up and golden brown.
  6. Step 6: Let cool slightly before slicing and serving. Serve immediately for best texture.

Notes

  • Refrigerate any leftover Dutch Baby promptly and tightly wrapped, but be aware it will lose some of its initial puff.
  • To revive a cooled Dutch Baby, gently reheat individual slices in a toaster oven or skillet until warmed through.
  • A dollop of sour cream or a sprinkle of fresh chives elevates the savory flavors beautifully.
  • For extra crispy edges and a guaranteed puff, ensure your skillet is screaming hot before adding the butter and batter.
