Ingredients
- Spaghetti: 1 pound
- Ground beef: 1 pound
- Garlic: 4 cloves, minced
- Olive oil: 2 tablespoons
- Marinara sauce: 24 ounces
- Italian bread bowls: 4
- Parmesan cheese: 1/2 cup, grated
- Dried oregano: 1 teaspoon
Instructions
- Step 1: Cook spaghetti according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
- Step 2: While spaghetti is cooking, brown ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Drain any excess grease.
- Step 3: Add minced garlic to the skillet and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Step 4: Stir in marinara sauce and dried oregano. Bring to a simmer and cook for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Step 5: Stir the cooked spaghetti into the meat sauce.
- Step 6: Cut a circle out of the top of each bread bowl and hollow out the inside, leaving a 1/2-inch shell. Fill each bread bowl with the spaghetti mixture. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and serve immediately.
Notes
- Store leftover spaghetti filling separately from the bread bowls to prevent sogginess.
- Reheat leftover spaghetti filling in the microwave or on the stovetop, adding a splash of water if needed to prevent drying.
- Garnish with a sprig of fresh basil or a sprinkle of red pepper flakes for a pop of color and flavor.
- For extra flavor, brush the inside of the bread bowls with garlic butter before filling them with spaghetti.
