Ingredients
Scale
- 4 cups cold water
- 1 cup white granulated sugar
- 1 cup lemon juice (freshly squeezed is best!)
- 1/2 cup edible glitter (various colors)
- 1/4 cup blue curaçao (or other blue food coloring)
- 2 tablespoons lemon zest
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 4 cups chilled club soda or sparkling water
Instructions
- Step 1: In a medium saucepan, combine the water and sugar. Heat over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the sugar is completely dissolved. Remove from heat and let cool completely.
- Step 2: Once the sugar syrup is cool, stir in the lemon juice, lemon zest and vanilla extract.
- Step 3: Divide the edible glitter evenly between four glasses or pitchers. Add a small amount of the blue curaçao to each glass for vibrant color. (Optional: You can adjust the amount of curaçao for desired intensity of color).
- Step 4: Carefully pour the lemon mixture over the glitter in each glass, ensuring the glitter settles and disperses evenly.
- Step 5: Gently top each glass with chilled club soda or sparkling water. Stir gently to combine.
- Step 6: Garnish with lemon slices and additional edible glitter if desired. Serve immediately and enjoy!
Notes
- Store leftover lemonade in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days, but the sparkle might fade slightly.
- This drink is best served chilled, so there's no need to reheat it – enjoy its refreshing coolness!
- For a truly magical presentation, serve your Sparkling Unicorn Lemonade in clear glasses to showcase the dazzling glitter.
- To prevent clumping, gently stir the edible glitter into the lemonade before adding the club soda, ensuring a smooth, shimmering finish.
