Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
- 1 (12-ounce) can Sprite or lemon-lime soda
- 1/2 cup vodka (optional, for an alcoholic version)
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon sugar (optional, adjust to taste)
- 4–5 ice cubes
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
- Pinch of salt (optional, enhances sweetness)
Instructions
- Step 1: In a blender or food processor, combine the sliced strawberries, lemon juice, sugar (if using), and salt (if using). Blend until smooth.
- Step 2: Strain the strawberry mixture through a fine-mesh sieve to remove seeds (optional, but recommended for a smoother drink).
- Step 3: Fill a tall glass with ice cubes.
- Step 4: Add the vodka (if using) to the glass.
- Step 5: Pour the strained strawberry mixture into the glass.
- Step 6: Top the glass with Sprite, leaving a little room at the top. Stir gently. Garnish with a strawberry slice, if desired.
Notes
- For best flavor, chill the finished drink for at least 30 minutes before serving.
- This drink is best enjoyed immediately; reheating is not recommended as it will flatten the soda.
- Serve in a mason jar with a fun straw for a summery presentation.
- To avoid a gritty texture, be sure to thoroughly strain the strawberry puree before adding it to the glass.
