Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound Cremini mushrooms, sliced
- 1/2 cup All-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon Black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon Salt
- 1/2 cup Milk
- 1/4 cup Vegetable oil
Instructions
- Step 1: In a shallow dish, combine the flour, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Step 2: In a separate shallow dish, pour the milk.
- Step 3: Dredge each mushroom slice in the milk, then immediately transfer it to the flour mixture, ensuring it's completely coated.
- Step 4: Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Step 5: Carefully place the coated mushrooms into the hot oil in a single layer, being careful not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and crispy.
- Step 6: Remove the fried mushrooms with a slotted spoon and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Serve immediately.
Notes
- Store leftover fried mushrooms in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- To reheat, spread the mushrooms in a single layer on a baking sheet and bake at 350°F (175°C) until warmed through and re-crisped.
- Serve these delicious fried mushrooms as a side dish with steak, or as a flavorful topping for burgers and sandwiches.
- For extra crispy mushrooms, ensure the oil is hot before adding them and avoid moving them around in the pan too much while frying.
