Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground chicken
- 1 lb chicken sausage, casings removed
- 1 cup cooked chicken, shredded
- 1 cup pepperoni slices
- 1 (15 ounce) can pizza sauce
- 1 (14.1 ounce) can diced tomatoes, undrained
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 (15 ounce) container ricotta cheese
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 box (14.1 ounces) refrigerated pizza crust
Instructions
- Step 1: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Step 2: In a large bowl, combine ground chicken, chicken sausage, shredded chicken, and pepperoni. Mix gently.
- Step 3: Spread half of the meat mixture evenly in the bottom of the prepared baking dish. Top with pizza sauce, then the drained diced tomatoes. Sprinkle with oregano and garlic powder.
- Step 4: In a separate bowl, combine ricotta cheese, egg, Parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper. Spread this mixture evenly over the tomato layer. Top with the remaining meat mixture.
- Step 5: Carefully place the pizza crust over the top of the meat mixture, tucking the edges down the sides of the baking dish.
- Step 6: Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is cooked through. Let cool slightly before slicing and serving.
Notes
- Store leftover pie in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- Reheat individual slices in a skillet over medium heat for a crispier crust, or in the microwave for a quick and easy warm-up.
- Serve this hearty pie with a side salad for a balanced and satisfying meal, or alongside a creamy garlic dipping sauce.
- To prevent a soggy crust, ensure the ricotta mixture is well-drained before spreading, and bake until the crust is thoroughly golden brown.
