Ingredients
- Salmon fillets: 2 (6-8 oz each)
- Olive oil: 2 tablespoons
- Garlic: 4 cloves, minced
- Honey: 3 tablespoons
- Soy sauce: 2 tablespoons
- Rice vinegar: 1 tablespoon
- Red pepper flakes: 1/4 teaspoon (optional)
- Salt and pepper: to taste
Instructions
- Step 1: Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels and season with salt and pepper.
- Step 2: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Place the salmon fillets skin-side down (if applicable) and cook for 5-7 minutes, or until the skin is crispy and golden brown.
- Step 3: Flip the salmon and cook for another 3-5 minutes, or until cooked through and flakes easily with a fork. Remove salmon from skillet and set aside.
- Step 4: In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Step 5: Stir in the honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and red pepper flakes (if using). Bring the sauce to a simmer and cook for 2-3 minutes, or until slightly thickened.
- Step 6: Return the salmon to the skillet and spoon the honey garlic sauce over the fillets. Cook for another minute, allowing the salmon to absorb the sauce. Serve immediately.
Notes
- Store leftover salmon in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
- For best results, gently reheat salmon in a skillet over low heat with a splash of water or broth to prevent drying.
- Serve this delicious salmon over a bed of fluffy rice or alongside roasted asparagus for a complete and satisfying meal.
- To prevent the garlic from burning, ensure your skillet isn't too hot before adding it to the pan.
